2009 International Aerial Robotics Competition Schedule
of Events:
The 2009 IARC will be held from Monday 20 July through Friday 24 July.
The associated Conference will be on Tuesday 21 July.
The Schedule of
events on an hour-by-hour basis will be posted for teams
at registration.
Schedule at a Glance:
Monday 20 July - Team
Registration at UPRM Coliseum begins at 10AM. Teams will be given instructions
as to how to collect any pre-shipped equipment at that time. A joint
safety and logistics briefing will be held a 2 PM (location to be announced
at registration). Arena set up completed. Practice times will be allowed
beginning at 3 PM and will run until closing (TBA). The Judges will schedule
private side meetings with each team to discuss their entry (Static Judging).
As teams arrive, these meetings will be scheduled. They will be brief
and the teams can use Power Point/Keynote presentations if desired, but
the meetings will be less formal than Static Judging briefings during
the past four IARC Missions. A team's "formal" briefing will be made
to the entire group during the presentation of their Journal Paper at
Tuesday's First Symposium on Indoor Flight Issues.
Tuesday 21 July - First
Symposium on Indoor Flight Issues begins at 9 AM. Location will be in
the UPRM auditorium. Details about how to get to the UPRM auditorium
will be given out at registration along with the speaker schedule. All
presentations will be made on Tuesday 21 July.
Wednesday 22 July - Performance
Competition begins at 9 AM in the Coliseum. The beginning flight order
will be announced during the First Symposium on Indoor Flight Issues
on Tuesday.
Thursday 23 July - Teams can begin packing for their return trip or
vacation time. Arena take-down will begin. The Team Awards Banquet will
commence at 6 PM and run to 9 PM (with dinner provided at 7 PM). The
venue will be the Faro Conference Center. Tickets to the Awards
Banquet will be issued to team members and IARC guests at the First Symposium
on Indoor Flight Issues. A valid ticket (free to team members and IARC
guests) is required to enter the Faro Conference Center.
Friday 24 July - Arena take-down completed
and materials stored for the 2010 event (if there is no winner in 2009)
or disposed of on site if there were to be a clear winner this year.
